Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be given a perfect score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi stumbled upon Comaneci at the age of six. She later became Romania's gymnastics instructor. Comaneci competed for the first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. In the following year, she became champion. She was awarded three golds during her first competition at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972. It was for communist bloc countries. In 1973 and 1974she won the all-around junior champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver awards in her senior debut international competition, held in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as a senior. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete an backward double salto to perform an unmounting from unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment business started in her teens when she started skating figure alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol first began her acting career when she was in her teens. As a young girl she started her career as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. The show featured dramatized ice skating performances.
